Here's How to Connect Your Amazon or Honeywell Smart Thermostat

Calling all Texans lookin' to save on their electricity bills! We have this here little program that rewards Amazon and Honeywell Smart Thermostat owners who help manage electricity demand by connecting their devices to their account.

You let us make small tweaks to your thermostat when the grid is strained; we reward you with bill credits. Simple as that.

Here's how to connect your smart thermostat:

1. Log in into My Account and go to “Device Management” in the top navigation and click on “Connect Device.

2. Choose your device type. For now, you must have a Honeywell or Amazon smart thermostat to participate in this program.

3. Read and agree to terms and conditions of the program. Please note that to be eligible to receive monthly credit on this program, your device cannot be inactive for more than 48 consecutive hours in a billing cycle, and you're only allowed to override up to three events per billing cycle.

4. Sign in to Honeywell (Resideo) or Amazon sign-in page and approve access to your device. Once you have completed this step, you will be automatically redirected to your Energy Texas Account.

*If you have trouble logging into your Honeywell (Resideo) or Amazon account, please enter your email address AND THEN click forgot password to reset your password. Once you have reset your password, return to your enrollment screen and log in with this information.

5. In your Energy Texas Account, select the address where the device(s) is located. Please note that you will get monthly credit per Energy Texas service address, regardless of the number of devices you connect.

6. Review and confirm the devices you've added. You will be redirected to “Device Management” tab in My Account once the process is complete where you can manage your device and monitor activity.
